AP Training Services offers a wide range of First Aid courses, Safeguarding and Mental Health First Aid training. 

All of our courses are Ofqual & FAA approved, providing clients with nationally accredited training that is compliant with Health & Safety Executive code of Practice. 

Certification lasts for 3 years before re-qualification is required.

Paramedics

First Aid Training

Emergency First Aid at Work - FAA Level 3 Award

6 hours of practical and theoretical training covering; first aid responsibilities, assessment of the situation, first aid hygiene, resuscitation, anatomy, choking, bleeding, shock, epilepsy, minor injuries and dealing with an unresponsive casualty.

 

Emergency Paediatric First Aid (1 day) & Paediatric First Aid (2 day) – FAA Level 3

Both Level 3 First Aid courses are designed for those who have an interest in child and baby Basic Life Support governed by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or OFSTED. This course covers life-threatening conditions including CPR, bleeding control and choking.

 

First Aid at Work - FAA Level 3 Award

This FAW course comprises of 3 days training and covers all aspects of basic life support including CPR, bleeding, unconsciousness, choking, head injuries, sprains and strains, spinal injuries, crush injuries, anaphylaxis, specialist burns and a vast range of first aid conditions that you may experience in the workplace.

Specialist First Aid Training

Forestry First Aid (+ F) - FAA Level 3 Award 

This qualification has been designed to provide the knowledge and competence for a learner to deal with emergency first aid situations in a forestry/agricultural environment. This qualification is designed to supplement a First Aider’s existing First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work qualification and covers the recommended topics stated in the Forestry Commission First Aid policy 2015. This qualification can also be combined with the 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work or 3-day First Aid at Work course. The range of subjects covered include; emergency planning and remote medical assistance, catastrophic bleeding control, crush injuries, effects of extreme cold, lyme disease.

 

Outdoor First Aid – FAA Level 3 Award

Working in an outdoor environment often means first aid can be more challenging. This 16 hour course (20 Guided Learning Hours) gives you the tools you’ll need in the event of an emergency! The course includes the following: adult BLS in the outdoors; limb Injuries in the outdoors; head, neck & torso injuries in the outdoors; medical conditions or sudden illness in the outdoors; incidents involving activity or environmental factors in the outdoors.

Safeguarding Courses

Safeguarding Awareness - FAA Level 1 Award (1/2 day)

This qualification will provide an understanding of safeguarding which can be used in a workplace, activity group or any instance where a person comes into contact with children or adults at risk. The qualification provides learners with the knowledge to identify a safeguarding concern, listen and appropriately record a disclosure, and report to the appropriate person.

Safeguarding Children, Young People or Vulnerable Adults - FAA Level 3 Award (1 day)

This course is designed for all persons to give them the tools and knowledge to make a difference to a vulnerable person’s life. It will also let the practitioner reporting the abuse know how they can safeguard themselves in every day work, while seeking help and reporting the incident identified.

First Aid for Mental Health

First Aid for Mental Health Awareness - FAA Level 1 Award (4 hours)

This ½-Day course is aimed at providing learners with the knowledge to identify suspected mental health conditions and the skills to start a conversation and be able to signpost the person towards professional help. The course helps to raise awareness of Mental Health First Aid and helps break down the stigma surrounding the subject. 

 

First Aid for Mental Health - FAA Level 2 Award (1 day)

This 1-Day course builds on the content of the Level 1 course and expands on the effects of drugs and alcohol, incorporates the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan and covers ways in which a positive mental health culture can be supported within a workplace.

 

First Aid for Mental Health Supervising - FAA Level 3 Award (2 day)

This 2-Day course goes into detail on a wide range of mental health conditions and the support and help provided by healthcare professionals. It covers the content of both the Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications but is aimed at the supervisor level within the workplace.
